Breakfast was good for such a basic hotel. Glad to know about the road noise in advance as I went prepared with ear plugs so slept well otherwise it would have been very difficult to sleep.
The staff seemed on the whole a pretty miserable lot - reception corridors and rooms felt a bit bleak and the complete opposite of comfortable/luxurious. So overall a tad pricey for what you got. Somewhere to sleep nothing more.
Its was fairly priced and comfortable. Staff were friendly particularly the young man in the bar called Reece.
It seemed that many items were not available. There were cocktails advertised in the bar, but no cocktails were available or bar snacks. The restaurant was not open and we were not informed about changes to the breakfast times and had to rely on the chef preparing our breakfast from leftovers.
The rooms are very nice, spacious and clean
The hotel is very poorly run, they seem to have a lot of teenagers running the place and being greated by a young man in a tracksuit eating McDonalds is not really what I expected, the bar was unmanned for the majority of the time, there was mountains of dirty linen for all to see, the breakfast was not very nice and the staff have attitude problems. There was one nice lady on Reception on the morning we left, who was professional but the rest of them let the place down. It could be a beautiful hotel, but the staff sadly let it down.
Friendly and helpful staff
Room and stairways could have been warmer coffee and tea is hit and miss in the breakfast room stronger in both cases and staff dont all manage to take your drinks order before you select your food resulting in going to work with a loverly breakfast without a warm drink.
stayed there because i was a guest at a wedding there so i only really used it as a place to sleep it was fine
Its location. The good parking area available. The amenities provided.
Unfortunately the night I stayed there the hotel had a wedding reception on. My room was - again unfortunately - in the front which overlooked the function room where it was all happening. I loved the music. The chatter from those outside - up to midnight - I put up with. What was annoying was that there were incidents of noise at varying times throughout the night by 'those who cannot hold their ale' which did give me a restless night.
very basic rooms and very noisy while parties taking place.
The staff were very welcominga dn the lady in the evening restaurant was very good.
Was unable to get to sleep until after twelve it seems like it is a contractors hotel. There was afootball match next door so the atnnoy and lighting were directly in my room. Doors were banging all night. People stood at the door to smoke and talk which could be heard even on teh second floor. At six o clock peopel were up again banging doors, walking along corridors noisly and I| could ehar teh person upstairs when in teh bathroom. Worst of all when I then went to have a shower the wall fixing was broke and the mixer did not work well and part way through all hot water left me to freeze while showering.
The fact that they gave us the marjority of our money back!
The hotel was dirty, noisy, generally run down and provided a very poor service compared to the cost - they did however refund a major proportion of our money but this does not make up for two sleepness nights and a spoilt weekend.
Hotel room was nice and clean with all the facilities that I required.
It appeared to be short staffed
I liked the comfort of the beds as they had duvets instead of sheets and there was no noise!
Cleanliness was awful! Bathroom was dirty. Some rooms had sky on tb and some didn't. My room didn't have bed lamps.
A nice location, close to where we needed to be. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the restaurant was welcoming and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again
The only thing I could comment on would be the lack of power shower
I did not like the fact that the cutlery in the room was not cleaned. The remote control for the television did not work. The room was too hot and there was no fan. The noise from the m25 was deafening. Should I go on?
Close to shopping centre, easy to get locate and ideal for any length of stay.
Water pressure in shower could have been better, had to stoop to get to whole body washed. Breakfast could have been hotter.
Good location for shops, very good en suit bathroom, lovely powerful shower,,very good breakfast
Arrived at hotel on saturday 14th july, very load music when we checked in to thurrock hotel,we couldnt believe it,we was so dissapointed as we were both very tired as we have very demanding jobs and we both dont sleep verywell was both looking forward to watching a film going to bed ,having a nice breakfast, then off to the shops for a spot of shopping as it was my husbands birthday on sun 15th.the receptionist told us that there was two wedding receptions being held WHEN I BOOKED THIS HOTEL I WAS NOT TOLD THAT TWO WEDDINGS WHERE BEING HELD ON THE SAME NIGHT,THE NOISE WAS HORRENDOUS,WE WANTED TO WATCH A FILM IN THE END WE TURNED THE T.V.OFF AS WE COULD NOT HEAR IT BECAUSE OF THE RESTRICTED SOUND,THE BASS FROM THE MUSIC WAS SO LOUD THAT THE ROOM WAS VIBRATING,,AS WE WERE NOT GUESTS AT EITHER WEDDING WHY WAS WE ALLOCATED A ROOM ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE HOTEL WHERE THE RECEPTIONS WERE BEING HELD.THE LAMP SHADES WERE FALLING TO BITS,THESE WOULD BE SO INEXPENSIVE TO REPLACE,,THERE WAS ONLY ONE CHAIR TO SIT ON AND THAT WAS SO BADLY STAINED IT LOOKED AWFUL,WE HAVE HAD SOME LOVELY STAYS IN HOLIDAY INNS AND SOME OF THESE COST ONLY£50 a night,so very dissapointed as it was for my husbands birthday
